On Tuesday, I’m bringing Rafiki (my Toyota Hilux) to @genesisimport.de so the new setup can be installed. It’s been 2 months since I’m trying my best to realise this. And, what a gift from these guys! I remember when, in January 2022, I started the big adventure and proud with my basic setup.
It thought more was unnecessary and that one’s passion and determination were the main tools to embark on such an overland journey. I never face a breakdown nor any other mechanical issues. Never, in 29 months on the road nonstop with my Hilux. That’s also the reason why I’m fascinated by Toyota, and the Hilux in particular.
Today, the situation is slightly different for many reasons.
1/ I got back from a incredible but tiring expedition;
2/ my back is broken;
3/ I need my deep sleeps and a shelter where I can hide;
4/ I need to feel safer;
5/ I need to hide anywhere I go if I need to;
6/ I need some privacy;
7/ I need space for my Rottweiler, and above all
8/ I need a full time Home once for all.
I’m so excited to see the ModCap camper from @alucab_official and I’m curious about how I’ll feel about it on the moment. And I also can’t wait to sit inside and to feel our new home with Kena thanks to @tailgategear.eu and their wonderful interior design ideas. Kena (my Rottie) and I finally left the French Alps this morning despite 2 sleepless nights for me.
I don’t know if you saw my stories but Kena got a painful inflammation all over her digestive system (and due to a careless treatment before I got her). We couldn’t make it on time for the suspension kit upgrade which was supposed to take place yesterday, and apparently they cannot take my car for the next months coming.
Let’s hope the current suspensions won’t get tired with the heavy camper. Health is first and especially Kena’s. Today she seems much better playing with her wooden sticks. Tomorrow, we will slowly head to Germany to meet the guys on Monday and to prepare the big transformation for the next days. Stay tuned.
